Nobody can Islamise Nigeria - Pastor Kumuyi.



Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has said no one can impose a religion on a country without the will of the people. He dismissed insinuations that that some people were planning to Islamise Nigeria, saying the will of the people could not be easily overruled, The Punch reports.Speaking at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport (MEIA) in Calabar, Cross Rivers state, Pastor Kumuyi said: “I think it depends on the will
of the people. You cannot impose a religion on a country without the will of the people. Worshiping God is a personal thing. RE“If I choose my way, so will it be. If a country is said to be going through a process, if the people are asleep and they do not have any conviction, then it becomes easy for another person to impose what he feels he has on you. But the will of the people will not be easily overruled.” Commenting on the alleged persecution of Christians in some parts of northern Nigeria the man of God said there was a need for the alleged killings to be investigated well. Last week, Femi Fani-Kayode had alleged that the essence of John Kerry, the United States Secretary of States visit to Nigeria was to perfect deals about making Nigeria an Islamic state. On Wednesday, he once again insinuated that there were plots to Islamise Nigeria. “Kerry comes to the north and sees the Sultan of Sokoto, northern governors and Buhari. One week later Facebook founder comes to Nigeria and says Hausa is a “unique language” he noted.
