Politicians Exchange Gun-fire at APC’s Ondo Secretariat

The sound of gun fire echoed across the every busy but deserted Oyemekun road in Ondo State on Thursday after two factions of the All Progressives Congress in
the state clashed.
The literal political war which took place at the state secretariat of the party on Thursday afternoon was as a result of a faction of the party who are loyal to the state chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke and some aggrieved members who want to take over the office.
The aggrieved members had on Tuesday sacked Kekemeke and chased away party officials until Kekemeke’s loyalists went regrouped and came back with guns to shut down the entire street.
Commercial activities were disrupted as shop owners, passers-by and motorists ran for their lives.
The situation was brought under control after the deputy commissioner of police, Edward Ajogun, arrived at the scene with his men. Addressing reporters, the APC chairman called on the Saka Yusuf-led executive members to return to his fold and work for the party’s success. The APC governorship primaries in the state is slated for August 27, ahead of the election billed for November 26.
