NDLEA Officials Kills Headmaster In Nasarawa
In a bizarre incident that occurred on Sunday in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) allegedly
shot and killed a primary school head-teacher, Abubakar Inusa while on operation.
According to eye-witness accounts, the NDLEA officials invaded Nunku community at about 8pm shooting sporadically into the air, it was during the shooting that the teacher (Inusa) was hit in the head by stray bullet, dying instantly.
An identity card of a senior narcotics officer, Hassan Musa Abdullahi, and a bag containing Indian hemp and handcuffs was discovered at the scene of the incident, eye-witnesses said.
The situation however, descended into chaos with youths blocking the road to protest the unlawful killing of the head-master. It took the intervention of the police and the traditional ruler of Mada lan, the Chun Mada, Samson Yare, to appeal to the youths.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Bello, said the police had commence investigations into the matter and the truth will soon be revealed.
“The roads were barricaded again on Monday, but the police persuaded the youths to reopen them,” Bello added.
