IMPRESSIVE MUSA starts Premiership on losing note

NIGERIA international, Ahmed Musa, was on the losing side as the Premier League got off to a thrilling start on Saturday with defending champions, Leicester City, taking on
newly promoted Hull City.

Musa, who played all 90 minutes at the KC Stadium, was one of the stand-out performers in the season-opener but his effort was unable to save Leicester from going down to an opening day defeat as Hull City claimed a 2-1 victory.

It was Robert Snodgrass’ second half goal that effectively condemned Musa and his Leicester teammates to defeat.

The first half was lacklustre for the premier league champions as they had all the possession but were slow and not swift as witnessed last season.

Leicester’s record signing Musa showed his lightning pace when he beat Livermore down the left but Jamie Vardy miss-timed his cut back as the Tigers survive.

Musa again was involved as he latched onto a loose ball in the final third and again played the ball into Vardy’s part but the England forward blazed the ball over the bar.

However, Hull went into the lead just before half-time as Snodgrass corner was connected with a header by David which Kasper Schmeichel pushed into the path of Hernandez and Diomande and both applied a bicycle kick at the same time to score but the goal was later awarded to Diomande.

The Foxes started the second half on fire as Gray earned a penalty within 15 seconds of the restart and Riyad Mahrez stepped up to convert with ease.
